Tip for Beginners:

  • Use support props when needed!
    While doing yoga postures be conscious and attentive to your body.

    Sometime we really want to do a certain posture, but the body is not ready yet. In this case, we must exercise caution and consideration for the body, listen to the true ability of the body and do not force it to do what the mind wants. It is a practice of Ahimsa (non-harm), one of the most important principles of yoga.

Is yoga a sport?

  1. Yoga activity is moderate and balanced- it's an energising practice followed by the euphoric feeling you get after hard work.

  2. Yoga is ideal as exercise, as it activates the body in an optimal way.
    It creates strength and flexibility and activates the internal systems of the body. It's a balanced method that helps us maintain a healthy and vital body and it slows down aging. Therefore it is possible (and even recommended) to practice even at the age of 100!

  3. But the essence of yoga goes far beyond the body exercises -
    The body is just used as a tool to work on the mind;

    1. It's a practice of concentration and awareness which is designed to create mental balance.

    2. The ultimate goal of the fundamental transformation in our personality is to release the suffering of human existence.

    3. Yoga is the vision that unites us all through our inner soul. It leads to qualities such as: balance, tolerance, patience, sensitivity, clear vision, joy, generosity, and compassion.
      These high spiritual goals are the true goals of yoga. The health and physical benefits are by-products only.
